How does one make the best out of a situation in which some resources are abundant (eg. performers, talent, audience, and a small budget) but others are crucially absent?  Just as funding and resources are not necessarily a guarantee of a great performance, lack of resources do not necessarily mean failure…

Offered by award-winning artist and educator Pablo Helguera in partnership with our Master of Arts program in Arts Management and Entrepreneurship, the Beyond the Stage Workshop will provide a project-based introduction to the creative economies of New York City and the skills that individual artists and entrepreneurs need to empower themselves and take control of their creative careers. In this workshop, participants will learn strategies to think “outside the box” — meaning how to creatively solve problems with resources and production, and to learn how ingenuity and creativity are key to the creative process.
