• Philosophy Graduate Virtual Information Session

Monday, December 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM until 12:00 PMEastern Standard Time UTC -05:00

Join us for a virtual information session to learn more about the Philosophy MA and PhD programs at the New School for Social Research!

With both full and part-time options, the MA in Philosophy is a 30-credit program providing students with advanced training in the history of philosophy and in central areas of current philosophical inquiry. The program offers an optional specialized minor in Psychoanalysis.

The PhD in Philosophy is designed for students who have completed the Philosophy MA at The New School for Social Research or a comparable master's degree from another university. The PhD provides maximum flexibility, enabling graduates to develop the highest level of competence in their chosen field of scholarly specialization.

In this session University Distinguished Professor of Philosophy, Liberal Studies and Gender & Sexuality Studies, Alice Crary, our Philosophy student advisor, and our current graduate student liaison will share information about our 30 credit MA program curriculum, the 48 credit PhD program, research centers, faculty, our Psychoanalytic Studies concentration, student life, and more. Members of our admissions team will also be present to answer your questions about the application process

Applications for the 2025-2026 Academic Year are currently open! Remember to apply to our MA program by our priority deadline on January 7, 2025 to be considered for our full range of scholarships. Our deadline for PhD applications is December 15, 2024.

We are still accepting MA applications for Spring 2025 on a rolling basis. We will continue to accept applications through January 4, 2025.
