The New School for Social Research is pausing admission for one year while we undertake a comprehensive review of the overall doctoral program.. Because of this we will not be admitting a new cohort of PhD students for 2026-27 academic year.
Pleasenote that all PhD programsat The New School require an applicant to have earned a Master’s degree as part of application requirements. If youhave not earned your Master’s degree, we encourage you to consider applying to one of our Master’s programs as you begin working towards your PhD. You’ll find a list of programs, here.
