• Anthropology Virtual Information Session

      The Anthropology department at the New School for Social Research fosters a dynamic intellectual environment in which students can thrive, emphasizing critical reflection at all levels of inquiry. Students explore analytic and social issues through ethnographic fieldwork, archival research, and theoretical reflection, with work characterized by carefully conducted ethnography, innovative research methodologies, and an awareness of the importance of historical context.

      In this session Department Chair Hugh Raffles will share information about our 30 credit program curriculum, our Ethnographic Media and Science and Society subject areas, the Anthropology and Design graduate minor, the possibility of continuing to a PhD, research centers and travel awards, faculty, student life, and more.
